The countdown has begun. In 2 months I will be DONE with nursing school. Which is very exciting but mostly VERY SCARY.
In the meantime I have been visiting my family..
in Arizona...

and at the beach in Oregon...

In August Hang and I went to the beach and it was grand.

And in Vegas, me and Alex know how to laugh. And here is the proof.

The last two weeks have been a blast.
I went to Disneyland with these people...

where we got stuck on this ride...

and we even got to go here...

where I was my usually classy self. The toilets were amazing!

Then Grace and Joe got married and everyone was happy about it!!

We were especially happy to eat such amazing foods. I was stuffed for days.

I ended up in Oregon and got to see everyone I love..
We had a bonfire for my liver,
Went to the beach,
Played in some rivers,
Ate some donuts...

and I got to spend some quality time with this girl!

Me and marge went hiking in Zion yesterday and hiked the Hidden Canyon trail. We never saw the arch they promised, but I feel like we employed some great rock climbing skills. My goal is to hike all the major trails before I move away.

A few weeks ago I went to California to visit the Romney's.
Choody is such a good mom. I don't know how she does it. Her kids are so much fun!

We went to some fun tide pools and Miles learned all about sea urchins. Also, he fell into a tide pool which was pretty funny.

The kids flew some kites.

ANd last weekend I visited my family and friends up north.
Jonah is an adorable butter-ball.

We also went cherry picking last weekend. It was gorgeous and wonderful.

This little girl was peeling mangos and feeding them to us. She was sassy and adorable.

We stayed with a family in the country. They are so wonderful. In the morning we took a walk to their "garden", which is really the jungle. Mom gathered some mushrooms and leaves and we ate them for lunch.

This is Joe. He speaks less English than I speak Thai but it did not deter him from talking to me constantly for 24 hours. And he loved taking pictures with my camera.

I can't wait for summer!! For starters, I'm going to Thailand for a few weeks, Gracie is getting married in California, Leah and I are going to Oregon, and I plan to camp and hike and go to Vegas and visit choody and be outside all the time. When I'm not working of course.

In the meantime, I am loving spring in southern Utah. Leah and I went hiking in Zions and stopped by Virgin, Utah on the way back.

And this is pretty much how I spend the rest of my time. Sunning on red rocks like a lizard.

Some dear friends were in town this weekend. We decided to hike in Zion National Park.

Even the drive out there was beautiful.

We hiked Angels Landing. We weren't exactly the most prepared hikers that morning. We didn't realize the amount of snow/ice that would still be on the trail.

We took many breaks to enjoy the scenery and take fun pictures.

The view at the top was amazing and beautiful.

We celebrated with sushi afterwords. It was a great day.

I am grateful for my liver. We are getting along just fine.
Three years ago...

Just chillin' about 2 or 3 weeks after surgery. I look so happy considering I have that feeding tube still in my nose. Ugh. And that central line in my IJ. double ugh.
(This is one of the only pictures I have of me in the hospital.)

How do other people celebrate their liver's birthdays? I have no idea. But this year I spent it with people I love and who love livers.

First, Grace and Fauf came to visit. And we ate and watched youtube videos and swam and loved each other.

The next weekend I went camping at Sand Hollow. (Beware of Swimmers Itch.)

And I enjoyed the earth.

The next few days I spent in Las Vegas with my AmberLee. But we were having too much fun to take pictures.

My transplant kept me alive. And it introduced me to the medical world.

Ironman, St George

Yesterday they had the Ironman race in St. George, Utah. What is an Ironman? It's a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run. Back to back to back. Done by one person...in one day...
Who is crazy enough to do this??
A lot of people. Including my sister.

After a 12-hour night shift, Dennis and I rode the spectator bus to Sand Hollow reservoir where the race began.

We got there as soon as the cannon sounded to start the race at 7 AM.
This is what 2,000 people is 59 degree water looks like...

Freaking cold. A few people got hypothermia and had be pulled from the race. Some people couldn't even make it half way and had to be pulled out of the water.
ESPN had a helicopter there.

The first people were done in under an hour!! I didn't expect to see Marge for another hour at least, so I had a lot of free time to take a lot of pictures of a lot of IronMen. Yum..

But it seems like a real Ironman wouldn't be afraid of a little nipple chaffing...

Marge only took a little over an hour and a half to complete her swim! Way faster than we thought.

ANd then went over to change into her biking clothes. She was so numb and cold she could barely talk. Her fingers were frozen into the same position she swam in and she could barely pull her pants up and she was starving!

Meanwhile, dennis and I had to wait for the spectator bus to pick us up. I had been awake for more than 24 hours but I was soo excited I couldn't sleep. We had to wait a long time for the buses...

By the time we got back into town, Marge was a few hours into her bike ride. We were tracking her pace online and she was cruisin'. The plan was to just see her at the next transition so I could take a nap, but we were too excited. We wanted to find her!
So Dennis calculated her rate and looked at the map and tried to guess where she would be...
And it worked!!
Holla!!!

We found her on 3 different spots! It was awesome. It was such a beautiful day, too.

We went back into town and I got my Ironman gear on.

The Ironman has cut-off times for each section of the race. If you don't finish in a certain time, they pull you off the course. Marge had to be off her bike by 5:30 pm. With her average speed, we knew she would be cutting it close. We went downtown so see the bikers finish and to see them start their marathon.

Marge finished 8 minutes after the cut-off. They told her she couldn't run the marathon.

The worst part is running is marge's strong suit. She has run tons of marathons and could have finished long before midnight, which was the cutoff for the entire race. But because she wasn't off her bike in time, her day was over. She was even feeling pretty good and was all geared up for the run.

She finished a 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike ride. She did AWESOME!!!!

Gracie came to visit!!! I put away my books, didn't work and PLAYED with my FRIENDS!
We double dutched, ate a lot of food, made pancakes, went clubbin'.(ok that acutally didn't work out and it was lame, but we tried). bought stuff, took pictures, and soaked up the sun.

I got a job. Yay!!!
Then I realized that means I have to start working. Boo!!!
I was a little nervous to start a new job with everything else I have on my plate. And I have never really been a "CNA" on a "normal hospital floor". So I was anxious. Then I went to an all day orientation today and realized how much I LOVE WORKING IN HOSPITALS! Everything about it. The equipment, the patients, the gross stuff, the other people that work there, the decision making, the noises, the sickness, the surgeries. Everything. I love it. So now I just want to get back in there, man! Weird.

But I have been making very good use of my free time while I have it. Liiike, pulling all-nighters in Vegas with my AmberLee

And hanging out with the two most fun people in all of St. George.

PRO: I look less like a 12 year old

CON: They make me look nerdy and smart...which most people think would be good, but boys typically don't like it when you are (or look like you are) smarter than them...which leads into the next PRO...

PRO: They serve as an all-natural birth control. And I don't have to remember to take it at the same time, everyday.

PRO: I can see people's faces.

Pro: I don't have to make my ugly squinting face anymore.

Last month I visited my brother at his work and was rewarded with a cantaloup. Last week, I pulled the rotting melon out from underneath my passenger side car seat. Today, I decided, was as good a day as any to clean out the rest of my car. This is what I found.

1. Cantaloup remains, rotted and hard, stuck to my floorboard... (does anyone know how to get rotting melon out of car carpet?)

2. 10 empty SugarFree Rockstar cans

3. 3 empty Vitamin Waters (various flavors)

4. 5 mostly empty water bottles

5. 1 pair of soggy brown socks (I think they used to be white)

6. 1 pair of sunglasses that I thought I lost (I already bought a replacement pair from Forever 21, so now I have 2 identical sunglasses...just in time for winter...)

7. Assorted garbage and crap i.e. gum wrappers, straw wrappers, receipts, old earrings, bobby pins, hair ties, bandanas, those coupons they put in your mailbox, pens that don't work, pens that do work, nail polish, lotion....

My liver turned 1 year old last weekend. To celebrate, got gelatto with Jake and Fauf and also watched hours of Arrested Development. It was a good day.

I had a storage unit for like 11 days. Just to hold some stuff in between moves. Matt helped me move all my stuff in and it was kind of sad how all my possessions didn't even fill up the smallest sized storage unit they offered. They offered me renter's insurance for my meager belongings, and I loved the brochure. It was amazing.... so anyway, you should protect your stuff from.....

I wish I knew how to hula hoop. I never learned to do it, now I really feel as if I missed out on something in my childhood.

Speaking of childhood, this is an actual, real-life quote from my psychology teacher (who also happens to be a freaking moron). "Childhood obesity is becoming an epidemic, especially in children." Seriously, I'm supposed to learn stuff from this idiot??? I can't handle this. I think my IQ dropped 5 points just from sitting through that class, and I don't got much points to spare. Eck. That psychology class is so depressing to me. Not because of the subject matter, but because everyone in that class is so unable (or unwilling?) to accomodate or assimilate new ideas into their own preexisting prejudices, that they simply throw it out. It is truly amazing. Sitting through that class diminishes my hope in the human race. I have no faith that the world can change and learn from its mistakes because these are the kinds of people, the raw materials, that we have to work with.

I think poenies are the most prettiest flowers.

I got a job!! And I only had to interview like 8 times. At about 2 hours each.

So now I am a Critical Care Tech in the Shock/Trauma ICU!!! Which is exactly where I wanted to be, either in an ICU or on the Transplant floor.

I just realized that its been almost 4 months since my latest tattoo and I have never posted a picture of it. I'm so forgetful. Also, these are some interesting things that have been happenning in my life.
1. I made 3 ten-year-old boys cry
2. I saw a bird pull a worm from the ground.
3. Thunder storms woke me up last night
4. If I could get paid to go to interviews, I would be rich.
5. I want to do a triathlon in August.
6. I saw like 70 million ants eating something the other day.
7. Then I stepped in the middle of them and mass murdered like half

Poooooopy. I just spent 9 hours. In the hot hot sunny sun. Baking. I applied SPF 30 every 2 hours and I STILL could not get away from the suns deadly rays. I love me some sunshine, but in small amount and when I am not forced to sit in it for work. Boo, you whore!

So, I was thinking about American Gladiators and how they are making a new one. I just hope they have Powerball and Assault. And the Joust! I am excited. But anyhow, I was thinking about the old Gladiators and I rememered that deaf one, Siren. So googled her. And she died in February!! She was living in Monmouth, Oregon and she killed herself. Weird! I got really sad for her.

Anyway, I love my car. It is so summery and great.

I could be in another city, with people who saved my life 9 months ago and who I love, having a blast and watching Arrested Development or Mean Girls. We would be getting ready for a freaking awesome Mothers Day BBQ up Spanish Fork Canyon and eating delicious meaty treats. Taking pretty pictures and laughing and being happy.

But instead my stupid car decided to get a flat tire and stupid Les Schwab decides not to be open when I want to get it fixed.

Stupid.

It is official! I am a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant. I just got the certificate in the mail...and then I ran home down the street...like they do in movies. I am excited!!! I start my nursing pre-reqs on MONDAY and now I can start applying for jobs at hospitals and I am stoked!

And as I was going down the stairs to my basement-room, I misjudged the last step and almost broke my back and my leg off and my face.

Well, I am going to start applying for CNA jobs...SUCKAS!!!
